I got kicked off the school newspaper for doing a newspaper making fun of the English teacher who ran it- Ms. Rape. With a name like that, it was easy to poke fun at her!

I had a few which I will keep to myself!

Who was your favorite teacher/s and why?

Jack Gelsomino- he was always there when you needed help and a great band leader who got the best from us! I ran into him when he was the principal at Kelly HS. He remembered me which I found amazing with all of the students he has known.

I did not have many fond memories of my time at Hay but then I moved on.

Northeastern IL University (BA in History, Geography-1970; MA in History-1978; MA in Education Leadership- 2005), University College, Cardiff- UK (MSW- 1986), a year at Loyola University working on PhD in History but never finished

There is a lot but then I am sure everyone has some interesting stories to tell!
Have you ever been on TV?

Yes, most recently during the 2012 Chicago Teachers' Strike. I worked for TV after college and was on often. I am often approached for comments by the media about Chicago Public Schools, mental health issues and union activities.

I am so sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He was a good guy that was a lot of fun to be with. I saw him a few years back when he came to the Chicago area.

I am saddened by learning of Martin's death. We were in kindergarten toeghter at John Hay. We got back in touch recently and promised each other to stay in touch. He was a sweet person.
