My heartfelt condolences to John's wife and family. John and I were friends in grammar school at John Hay. We used to walk home together though I lived further from school, so I would leave him at his house. I was a couple of years older than him but always thought he was a good kid. His mom looked just like Suzanne Plechette and at 13 I had mad crushes on both she and her actress doppleganger. I was always trying to get him to toughen up because nothing anyone teased him about got his goat. He was just so easy going.

Later in life I had the good fortune to work with him as a professional while he was a classroom teacher telling his Principal that they needed the curriculum which I was promoting and later as Superintendant of his district adopting my wares.

I had kept in touch, by phone, from time to time since he retired and moved to Alabama and I will miss our occasional conversations and his friendship.
